Access and dashboard
Sign in with the account provided by your institution. The dashboard lists your projects and lets you create, search, favorite, import, or open them. The account menu provides email, password, language, editor, and personal preferences. Administrative options appear only for instance administrators.
Create and organize a project
Create a blank project, copy an available template, or import a supported ZIP. Use the file tree to add, rename, move, upload, or remove source and binary files. File actions respect the role assigned to you: owners manage the project, editors change its content, and readers can view it. The project settings also show people with access and pending invitations.
Write and compile
The editor keeps the file tree, LaTeX source, compiler controls, and PDF viewer in one workspace. Use the supported engines and bibliography tools required by the project. Compilation diagnostics point to useful lines; the local PDF viewer offers zoom, links, download, and forward or inverse SyncTeX where applicable. The compilation service may be unavailable or limited by the administrator, and long documents can run up to the instance timeout.
Correct spelling
When English or Brazilian Portuguese dictionaries are enabled by the instance, misspelled words are underlined. Open the interactive correction next to the editor to see suggestions. Replace or reject the selected word, or add it to the project’s local dictionary. If no text is selected, the correction checks the document; with a selection, it checks only that selection.
Collaborate and recover work
Invite a collaborator from the project’s sharing controls. Invitations require an explicit accept or decline. While people work together, Liteleaf shows presence and remote cursors and keeps durable operations through reconnections. Manual saves create attributed revisions; automatic idle checkpoints are consolidated to protect progress without clutter. Open history to inspect and restore a known project state.
Use Ollama assistance
Ollama is available only when the administrator has configured it. Select the text you want to send, ask for grammar or clarity help, then compare the suggestion before applying or discarding it. Liteleaf protects LaTeX commands and environments defensively and never changes the document automatically. Your institution controls the endpoint and model, so follow its data-use policy.
Export and synchronize
Download project sources and PDFs when available. If the administrator enables Git backup, the project menu provides a private, read-only Git URL. Use your Liteleaf account to clone or fetch it from a compatible remote mirror such as Forgejo or Gitea. Push is intentionally unavailable; continue editing in Liteleaf and let the remote service schedule its pull mirror.
